Growatt APX 5.0P-B1 high-voltage battery 5kWh LiFePO4

With the apx 5.0p-b1 battery module from Growatt (MPN apx 5.0p-b1) is a high-voltage rechargeable battery with proven lithium iron phosphate storage technology. The LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by a long service life and a high level of safety, even at high power. In addition, the modular energy optimization ensures that the system fully utilizes the energy of each battery. In order to achieve a very flexible system application, old and new battery batches as well as batteries with different capacities can be mixed and connected. Soft start is used to avoid overvoltage in the system.

The apx battery system

Thanks to its modular concept, the apx system can be used flexibly and expanded as required. A battery tower can be installed with a minimum of one to a maximum of 6 storage modules. One power module per tower is required for operation. A distinction is made between the apx 98020-P1 or the apx 98034-P2 can be selected. This must be purchased separately. The bms must be purchased separately and an additional base is required for floor mounting.

Flexible expansion

The apx battery system from Growatt demonstrates its flexible configuration options. These can be expanded from 5kWh to 30kWh. The simple and modular design makes installation and expansion very straightforward with the help of cables. A further advance of the new storage system is that, unlike other systems, a battery cabinet is no longer required. Only a battery base is required for a secure stand. The apx series supports the combination of mixed battery packs from new and old batches, as well as different capacities.

Long cycle life

The apx battery system relies on LiFePO4 chemistry without cobalt and offers a four-stage protection mechanism through a battery management system (bms), modular energy optimization, a fuse and aerosol. This ensures increased safety, reliability and a long service life. The modular energy optimization ensures that the system fully utilizes the energy of each individual battery. Regardless of whether the solar system is grid-connected or stand-alone, Growatt storage offers several advantages over typical lead-acid batteries and other lithium technologies.

Soft start to protect the system

The soft start mechanism is a protective function that is used with the Growatt battery to protect the system from overvoltage. When the battery is started or switched on, the power supply is gradually increased to protect the system from damage that could be caused by a sudden voltage spike. This ensures smooth and safe operation of the battery system.
