The APX 5.0P-B1 battery module from Growatt (MPN APX 5.0P-B1) is a high-voltage battery that features proven lithium iron phosphate storage technology. LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by a long service life and high safety, even at high power. In addition, modular energy optimization ensures that the system makes full use of the energy in each battery. To achieve a highly flexible system application, old and new battery batches, as well as batteries with different capacities, can be mixed and connected. Soft start is used to prevent overvoltage in the system.
The APX series is also compatible with the new inverter series with backup function: MOD-XH BP

The APX battery system
Thanks to its modular concept, the APX system is flexible in use and can be expanded as required. A battery tower can be constructed with a minimum of one and a maximum of six storage modules. One power module is required per tower for operation. You can choose between the APX 98020-P1 or the APX 98034-P2. This must be purchased separately. The BMS must be purchased separately and an additional base is required for floor mounting.
Flexible expansion
The APX battery system from Growatt demonstrates its flexible configuration options. These can be expanded from 5kWh to 30kWh. Thanks to the simple and modular design, installation and expansion are very straightforward with the aid of cables. Another advance of the new storage system is that, unlike other systems, it no longer requires a battery cabinet. Only a battery base is needed for a secure stand. The APX series supports the combination of mixed battery packs from new and old batches, as well as different capacities.
High cycle life
The APX battery system uses cobalt-free LiFePO4 chemistry and offers a four-stage protection mechanism through a battery management system (BMS), modular energy optimization, a fuse, and aerosol. This ensures increased safety, reliability, and a long service life. Modular energy optimization ensures that the system makes full use of the energy of each individual battery. Regardless of whether the solar system is grid-connected or stand-alone, Growatt storage offers several advantages over typical lead-acid batteries and other lithium technologies.
Soft start to protect the system
The soft start mechanism is a protective function used in the Growatt battery to protect the system from power surges. When starting or switching on the battery, the power supply is gradually increased to protect the system from damage that could be caused by a sudden voltage spike. This ensures smooth and safe operation of the battery system.
