Dekalin Dekasyl MS-1 6261334 Adhesive and sealant, black, 290 ml
Shipped in 1-3 days
Dekasyl MS-1 from Dekalin (MPN 6261334) is a universal, elastic sealant and adhesive that cures with air humidity. It is suitable for creating internal and external elastic seals and can be used in the automotive, bus, train, caravan, general, and construction industries, for example. Dekasyl MS-1 is also suitable as an adhesive for components, provided that the joint does not have to meet any major requirements. The sealant and adhesive is based on MS polymer.
Areas of application
- Elastic joints and seals in, for example, bus, caravan, train, and truck construction
- Elastic joints and seals in air and ventilation systems
- Sealing joints around windows, doors, etc.
- Sealing in the wood and metal industry
- Sealing GRP or aluminum to painted sheet metal walls
Properties
- Free from solvents, isocyanates, silicone, and PVC
- Good UV and aging resistance
- Generally good adhesion without primer on various substrates
- Permanently elastic in the temperature range from -40°C to +100°C
- Neutral and fast curing
- Suitable for sanitary areas (fungicide resistant)
- Compatible with most industrial coating or painting systems, both alkyd resin and emulsion paints
Adhesion
In general, Dekasyl MS-1 adheres well without primer to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates made of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most painted metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and varnished wood, etc. Not suitable for PE, PP, PC, PMMA, or PTFE substrates. Dekaclean Ultra is recommended for cleaning substrates (an adhesion test is recommended before application). If high adhesion is required in cases of high thermal or physical stress, especially in humid environments, the use of Dekavator is recommended. For properties on substrates not mentioned and further information, please contact Dekalin.
Processing
Dekasyl MS-1 can be easily processed with a hand or air pressure gun at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. For sealing, Dekasyl MS-1 should be further processed or smoothed within 10 minutes (at 20°C/50% relative humidity) with a spatula or putty knife previously dipped in a mild soap solution. Avoid penetration of the sides. Humidity) with a spatula or putty knife previously dipped in a mild soap solution. Avoid the solution penetrating between the connecting surfaces and the sealant, as this will result in a loss of adhesive strength. For bonding, the substrates must be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20°C/50% relative humidity) after applying Dekasyl MS-1. The higher the temperature, the shorter the processing time! In general, a bonding layer of 2 mm is recommended if similar materials (with similar strength) are to be bonded. The greater the difference in thermal expansion, the shorter the processing time! Further information on this can be obtained from Dekalin. At a temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 50%, Dekasyl MS-1 can be painted over with most industrial paints after just 10 minutes. The best possible adhesion of paint layers is achieved when the paint is applied 4 hours after applying Dekasyl MS-1. Clean the tools or remove any uncured residues of Dekasyl MS-1 with a clean, colorless cloth soaked in Dekaclean Ultra, for exampleresidues of Dekasyl MS-1 with a clean, colorless cloth soaked in Dekaclean Ultra, for example (it is recommended to check beforehand whether the surface is affected by this cleaner).
