PowerControl and PowerAssist: Efficient load management

A maximum mains or generator current can be set on the MultiPlus-II 48/4k5/55-32 230V. The MultiPlus-II takes other connected AC consumers into account and only uses the "leftover" current to charge the battery. This prevents the generator or mains connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). The PowerAssist function adds a new dimension to the PowerControl principle: in the event of short-term load peaks, the MultiPlus-II immediately compensates for insufficient generator, shore power, or mains power with energy from the battery. When the load drops again, the excess energy can be used to charge the batteries.

Modern ESS functionality and extended range of functions

The integrated anti-islanding function and the optional external current sensor (up to 55 A) enable use in advanced energy storage systems (ESS). This makes the MultiPlus-II suitable as the heart of modern PV hybrid concepts, in which self-consumption, grid parallel operation, and emergency power supply are optimally combined. As a backup device, the system continues to supply connected consumers seamlessly in the event of a power failure. The switchover takes less than 20 ms – enough to operate even sensitive electronics such as computers without interruption.

Dual AC outputs – clear load separation

The main output guarantees an uninterrupted supply. The second output automatically supplies devices such as water heaters only when external mains power is available – thus conserving the battery.

Flexible system integration and expansion

Parallel and three-phase operation via VE.Bus interface: systems can be flexibly expanded, providing virtually unlimited power. Remote monitoring and control are provided by Color Control GX, Venus GX, or Octo GX – locally and worldwide via the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal.
