How the EasyPlus works

The Victron EasyPlus is connected to batteries and the shore power/generator. The maximum current can be set via the control panel. Consumers are divided into two groups: The first includes "normal" consumers such as kitchen appliances, which can be supplied both from the shore power/generator and via the inverter from the batteries. The second includes consumers such as the hot water boiler, which are operated exclusively via the generator/shore power connection in order to protect the batteries.

PowerControl and PowerAssist functions

PowerControl enables optimal use of limited shore or generator power through settings via the Multi Control Panel (available as an option). The EasyPlus takes other connected loads into account and redirects excess power to battery charging to prevent overloads.

The PowerAssist function extends this principle by offering additional usage options for the on-board generator and shore power connection. The EasyPlus can supplement the power of other voltage sources to reduce the generator size during peak loads or to achieve more with limited shore power.

Automatic and uninterrupted switching

When a power failure occurs or the generator is switched off, MultPlus seamlessly switches to inverter mode to immediately supply power to the connected loads. This switchover takes less than 20 milliseconds, which is sufficient to continue operating computers or other electronic devices without interruption. This functionality is similar to that of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system, which ensures a continuous power supply during a power failure.

Integrated battery charger

Adaptive 4-stage charging characteristic

The EasyPlus has an adaptive 4-stage charging characteristic that includes bulk, absorption, float, and storage. This is made possible by a microprocessor-controlled 'adaptive' battery management system that can be adjusted to suit different battery types. Thanks to this flexibility, the optimal charging process for the respective battery type is selected automatically.

The battery protection mode

EasyPlus activates battery protection mode to prevent damage from excessive gassing. If rapid battery charging is required, a high constant current at high voltage is used. To prevent excessive gassing, EasyPlus limits the voltage rise rate when the gassing voltage is reached.
