By connecting a Growatt GroBoost to a solar system, you can effectively use excess solar energy to heat your hot water storage tank. This leads to a significant increase in the efficiency of your solar system. Depending on the output of the solar system, it is possible, for example, to heat all your water during the summer months using only surplus solar energy. The GroBoost allows for adjustable power control from 0 to 10.8 kW. It divides the output into three zones, for which three independent power outputs are available. When integrated into the smart home system, the GroBoost can achieve a solar self-consumption rate of up to 92%.

Operating modes
Smart mode: The GroBoost will operate according to the set time period and temperature, with 5 groups of adjustable time periods available. During smart mode, the device operates at its rated power, but the power output of phase L1 is adjustable.
PV Link Mode: The GroBoost can receive real-time energy flow data via the ShineLink system. By setting the execution strategy, it will automatically operate and adjust its output power when a certain amount of power is exported to or imported from the grid in order to make optimal use of solar energy and maximize self-consumption of solar power. In addition, there is also a thermal protection function to ensure the water temperature during the set period and temperature point when a grid failure occurs or solar energy is insufficient.
Forced operation mode: Triggered by manually pressing the button, GroBoost can be forcibly activated and will continue to run until it reaches the maximum temperature (default temperature is 65°C). This is often used in emergencies. For safety reasons, the maximum duration of forced operation mode is 2 hours by default.
Growatt Shine monitoring platform
With the ShineLink-X, you can use the Growatt monitoring platform. This is available as a smartphone app (for iOS and Android) and as a web version. Use of the platform is free of charge. Shine can be used to configure and monitor all Growatt products in your possession. It is also possible to display self-consumption and trends.
