The On Board B2B charging converter from Votronic (MPN: 0695) offers optimal charge maintenance and recharging from a 12V or 24V vehicle electrical system (switchable).This applies to 12V starter batteries for portable pumps (TS/PFPN), mobile power generators, and aggregates. The adjustable charging current of 1-4 A covers battery capacities of 6-100 Ah. Charging starts automatically as soon as the vehicle's on-board battery is charged while driving or when connected to the mains. Four adjustable, 6-stage IU1oU2oU3 charging characteristics enable full and monitoring-free main, maintenance, and storage charging for acid, gel, AGM1/AGM2, and modern lithium LiFePO4 batteries.

How does it work?

The fully automatic DC charger only activates automatically when the vehicle's electrical system can supply power, i.e., when the engine is running (alternator) or a mains charger is active at the parking space. This provides optimum protection for the vehicle battery against discharge by the power units. The battery (terminal) voltages are determined precisely by briefly switching off the charging current every 2.5 seconds. This automatically compensates for losses caused by cable lengths and cross-sections, and your battery always remains in top condition.

Aggregate battery trainer

Alternatively, the trainer can be used for lead-acid, gel, and AGM batteries. It supports the generator battery with short, powerful current pulses and counteracts creeping sulfation at low average current consumption. The trainer activates automatically when there is no charging source and the selector switch "3" is set to "ON." For protection, the trainer switches off when the aggregate battery drops below 12.3 V. The trainer is not active in the "OFF" position or when the LiFePO4 charging program is set. If the vehicle is not in use for long periods of time, it is ideal to use the standby mode connected to the mains socket. This continuously charges both the vehicle battery and the aggregate battery (U3 storage charge).

Installation and assembly

The charger is ideally installed near the generator slide-in unit on a vertical body wall, with the cable glands pointing downwards. Simply open the housing cover for installation and further connections and settings. Then securely fasten the housing to the mounting holes that are now visible. This ensures uncomplicated and proper installation.
