The Victron Energy Blue Smart IP67 24/12 (1+Si) (MPN: BPC241214006) is an intelligent battery charger with Bluetooth connectivity—ideal for demanding environments. With a charging current of 12A, it is ideal for charging 24V AGM, gel, and lead-acid batteries, as well as lithium-ion batteries. The 5-step adaptive charging algorithm automatically ensures the best possible battery utilization. The features of the Blue Smart IP67 series expand on those of the IP65 and IP22 series in terms of possible areas of application, as they are also dustproof and protected against temporary immersion in water. The integrated Bluetooth provides this charger with a wireless solution for monitoring voltage and current, adjusting settings, and updating the charger when new features are available. In addition, this model is equipped with a third, brown cable that serves as a signal output (Si). It allows connection to an external device such as a relay and signals when the charger is active.

Adaptive 5-stage charging algorithm

The Blue Smart charger features microprocessor-controlled, "adaptive" battery management. "Adaptive" means that the charging process is automatically adjusted to the type of battery use.

"Bulk"(constant current phase) - The battery is first charged with maximum charging current. Once the configured absorption voltage is reached, the charging process is optimally adjusted.
"Absorption"(constant voltage phase) - The battery is charged with the configured absorption voltage. The charging current gradually decreases as the battery approaches its full charge.
"Recondition"(regeneration phase) - The charger increases the battery voltage to the configured recovery voltage. The output current is automatically limited to 8% of the nominal charging current (for example, a maximum of 1.2 A for a 15 A charger).
"Float"(float voltage phase) - The battery voltage is maintained at the set float voltage to prevent discharge. Once the float phase begins, the battery is fully charged and ready for use.
"Storage"(storage mode) - The battery voltage is set to the configured storage voltage, which is slightly lower than the float voltage. This minimizes gas formation and extends the life of the battery while it remains unused and continuously charged.

When temperatures rise to 60°C, the output current is automatically reduced so that the charger continues to operate reliably without failing. Furthermore, it begins the charging process even when the battery is completely discharged to zero volts. Storage mode

This mode is activated if the battery is not discharged within 24 hours. In this mode, the charging voltage is reduced to 26.4 V/cell to minimize gas formation and corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is briefly increased to perform an equalization charge. This effectively prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the main causes of premature battery failure.

With the VictronConnect app, you can configure advanced settings, comprehensively monitor your devices, and effortlessly perform firmware updates via your mobile phone or tablet.
