A gel solar battery is a type of battery that has been specially developed for use in solar systems. It is a form of lead-acid battery that is filled with a gel electrolyte instead of the liquid electrolyte found in conventional lead-acid batteries. This gel electrolyte technology makes the batteries maintenance-free, as they do not need to be refilled, and they are less susceptible to electrolyte spills or leaks.

The advantages of gel solar batteries are their durability, maintenance-free operation, low self-discharge rates, and ability to withstand deep discharges without damage.
