This is the revised version of the popular OLP 180W 12V solar module (MPN 3-01-013105). The increased maximum system voltage of 1000 VDC expands integration possibilities in existing and new solar systems, while the increased maximum current improves the overall performance of the module. In the new version, the solar modules are equipped with both improved solar cells and 11 busbars, which leads to improved light absorption and reduces the effect of partial shading.

Overlapping design

The overlapping in the wafer design of monocrystalline solar modules is crucial for their exceptionally high module efficiency. It enables more precise use of the available surface area, minimizes power losses through reduced line resistance, and limits material losses during production. The targeted arrangement of the wafers effectively minimizes gaps between them, thereby increasing power density and optimizing the overall efficiency of the modules. This method is therefore particularly advantageous for solar applications in rooms with limited space, as it maximizes energy production per unit area.

Innovative PERC technology

PERC technology, also known as Passivated Emitter Rear Cell or rear passivation, is a key technology in Offgridtec OLP solar modules that increases the efficiency of solar cells. It creates a dielectric layer between the conventional aluminum metallization and the silicon wafer layer on the back of the cell. This layer is treated with a laser that creates tiny holes. This dielectric layer reflects light that would normally penetrate to the rear without generating charge carriers back into the solar cell. This gives photons an additional chance to generate electricity. PERC technology improves efficiency across different wavelengths, increases the likelihood that electrons will contribute to power generation, and helps to reduce system costs and increase energy yield per unit area.
