Offgridtec's complete balcony power plant systems offer an excellent opportunity to generate part of your household electricity yourself and thus significantly reduce your electricity costs. The Solar-Direct Titan HM-800 900W balcony power plant comes packed with the most advanced components. In addition to two current Luxen Solar 450W Black Frame solar modules from the N5 series, each with an output of 450W, and the HMS-800W-2T micro inverter from Hoymiles, the DTU-WLite for monitoring the system via WiFi is also included in the scope of delivery. The system is rounded off by the addition of all the cables required to connect the BKW to the house network.

How does a balcony power plant work?

The Offgridtec balcony power plant is a compact solar system. It consists of one or more solar modules and the appropriate Hoymiles micro inverter for feeding into the home's own power grid. Ideally, the inverter is attached directly to the substructure of the solar module and connected to the solar module with the MC4 connectors. The AC cable is connected via the inverter's Betteri connection and routed directly to the appropriate Schuko socket. No special settings are required to use the solar power generated in the home's power grid. If electricity from local sources is already available, the appliances in the household use this first and then supplement it with mains electricity if necessary.

Luxen Solar 450W Bifacial TopCon N5

The bifacial 450W Full Black solar module from Luxen Solar's Luxneri N5 series sets new standards in solar technology. It combines innovative technologies such as LECO N-TOPCon cell technology and a 96-cell half-cut layout to maximize efficiency. In addition, SMBB half-cut cell technology is used to optimize performance.

HMS-800W-2T Micro inverter with integrated WiFi

The HMS-800W-2T (MPN: HMS-800W-2T) from Hoymiles is the perfect micro inverter for a balcony power plant. In addition to the integratedWiFi module, this compact, lightweight (only 3.2 kg) device is ideal for solar power production with up to two solar panels with an output of 320 to 540+W each. As with all other micro inverters from Hoymiles, it is suitable for long operating hours and a wide range of PV module applications, as its starting voltage is very low (only 22V) and the DC input range of the operating voltage (16-60V) is extremely wide.

Two MPP trackers for optimal solar yields

Maximum Power Point Tracker technology generates the best possible yield from a solar system. The MPPT determines the optimal ratio between irradiance, module temperature, and solar cell type throughout the day. The two MPP trackers in the HMS-800W-2T allow the optimal operating point for the two PV strings to be optimized separately. The two trackers work independently of each other, so that, for example, shading on one string would have no effect on the second.

Simple setup

PV systems with Hoymiles microinverters are very easy to plan. You do not need to install cumbersome conventional inverters. Each microinverter can be quickly mounted on the PV mounting rack or directly under the PV module. The PV module is connected to the microinverter directly on site, eliminating the risk of people being exposed to dangerously high DC voltage.

MC4 extension cable

2 m 6 mm² MC4 extension cable (equipped with MC4 plug and socket) with cross-linked solar cable from leading cable manufacturer Lapp in Germany. The connectors themselves are also German originals from MutliContact. All ready-to-use cables are manufactured at our factory in Lower Bavaria.

Balcony power plants in Germany

There is currently no law or regulation in Germany governing the generation of solar power for purely personal use. The maximum limit of 600W AC PV power is a reserve value which, according to the current VDE standard, can be fed into an existing socket circuit in a house without overloading it. There are no specifications for independent circuits without additional load.
All electrical installations should be carried out in accordance with VDE standards. However, the operation of a balcony power plant via a standard Schuko socket is not prohibited in principle. Registration with the Federal Network Agency is mandatory. However, there are no known cases of fines for failure to register balcony power plants, nor are there any insurmountable problems with network operators. Compliance with and implementation of standards and obligations is the responsibility of the plant operator.
