The 900W balcony power plant from Offgridtec is based on two high-quality, monocrystalline 450W Vertex S+ solar modules from Trina Solar and the single-phase NEO 800M-X 800W micro inverter from Growattthe system also includes a suitable AC connection cable for the micro inverter and two MC-4 connection cables for the solar modules. Offgridtec's balcony power plants offer a practical solution for generating part of the electricity required for the household yourself, thereby significantly reducing the costs for total electricity consumption.
How does a balcony power plant work?
The Offgridtec balcony power plant is a space-saving solar system consisting of two solar modules and a matching Growatt micro inverter to feed the generated electricity into the in-house power grid. Ideally, the inverter is attached directly to the substructure of the solar module and connected to the module with the solar connector. The AC cable is connected via the inverter's battery connection and routed directly to the appropriate outlet. No special settings are required to use the solar power generated in the home's power grid. If power is available from other sources in the home, this is used preferentially and supplemented by grid power if necessary.

Balcony power plants in Germany
There is currently no law or regulation in Germany governing the generation of solar power for purely personal use. The maximum limit of 600W AC PV power is a reserve value which, according to the current VDE standard, can be fed into an existing socket circuit in a house without overloading it. There are no specifications for independent circuits without additional load. All electrical installations should be carried out in accordance with VDE standards. However, the operation of a balcony power plant via a standard Schuko socket is not prohibited. Notification to the Federal Network Agency is mandatory. However, there are no known cases of fines for failure to report balcony power plants, nor are there any insurmountable problems with grid operators. Compliance with and implementation of standards and obligations is the responsibility of the plant operator.
