The ARK battery system
Thanks to its modular design, the ARK system is flexible in use and can be expanded as required. A battery tower can be constructed with a minimum of 2 and up to 10 storage modules, and several towers can also be installed in one system. Each tower requires a BMS control element and a connection cable set to the corresponding inverter for operation. A battery base per tower is also required for floor installation. ARK high-voltage storage systems are compatible with MIN and MOD-XH inverters, as well as three-phase SPH and SPA inverters. Depending on the inverter series, a different control unit, a different connection cable set, and a different starting number of batteries are required. The ARK-XH system starts with 2 batteries, while the ARK-HV system starts with 3 batteries.
Flexible expansion: The ARK battery system from Growatt offers a high degree of flexibility thanks to its expandable configuration options, which range from 5.12 kWh to 25.6 kWh. The modular design and use of cables make installation and expansion of the system simple and straightforward. Another innovation of the ARK system is that, unlike other battery systems, it does not require a battery cabinet. Only a battery base is needed to ensure stability.
Soft start to protect the system: The soft start mechanism is a protective function used in the Growatt battery to protect the system from power surges. When starting or switching on the battery, the power supply is gradually increased to protect the system from damage that could be caused by a sudden voltage spike. This ensures smooth and safe operation of the battery system.
High cycle life: Growatt ARK battery modules are an ideal storage solution for photovoltaic systems due to their extremely high cycle life and the use of LiFePo4 cells. Regardless of whether it is a grid-connected or stand-alone system, Growatt storage offers numerous advantages over conventional lead-acid batteries and other lithium technologies.

Hybrid inverter
Unlike conventional inverters, hybrid inverters offer the option of not only feeding the generated solar power into the power grid, but also storing it in batteries. This allows the stored solar power to be used even when the sun is not shining. Another function of hybrid inverters is to optimize a household's electricity consumption by giving priority to using the generated solar power directly in the household before feeding it into the grid. This leads to a reduction in energy costs and less dependence on expensive grid electricity.
Operating modes – Configurable depending on system requirements
Online mode: Different operating modes can be set for optimal system integration of the SPH inverter. When entering directly on the device, a priority mode can only be set for a specific period of time. When using the online platform, up to three time periods can be set for the priority mode (paid accessories are required to use this function).
- Load first:In the standard "Load first" mode, the connected loads (consumers) are supplied with energy first. As soon as the PV energy is sufficient for the load, the excess energy is fed into the battery. If the battery is fully charged or no battery is connected, the remaining energy is fed into the grid.
- Battery first:In this mode, the inverter first charges the battery to full capacity using the maximum possible solar power. If the PV power is insufficient, the grid charging function can also be activated.
- Grid first:In this mode, the PV energy generated is first fed into the grid. The switch-on and switch-off times for this mode can be set here, as well as the power rate.
Backup mode: If there is no longer any grid voltage at the device, e.g., due to a short-term power failure or blackout, the Growatt SPH automatically switches to backup mode. This ensures the supply of the AC output via the EPS LOAD connection. The required energy is supplied solely by the solar system and the battery. If the PV system also fails, the battery secures the AC supply until it is discharged. If necessary, the automatic switch to this mode can also be deactivated.
Maximum Power Point Tracking
By using Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology, a solar system can achieve optimum yield. The MIC inverter is equipped with an MPPT that adjusts the optimum ratio of voltage and current throughout the day according to the solar radiation and the module temperature of the solar modules. With its wide MPPT voltage range, many solar modules can be connected, enabling efficient energy generation. This advantage is particularly evident when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity changes continuously.
Intelligent load management
The inverter's integrated smart load control enables precise and efficient control of energy consumption. The use of a potential-free contact allows electrical consumers to be controlled intelligently and prioritized. This function enables automatic detection of energy requirements and optimal use of the available energy. Smart load management ensures optimal distribution of energy and thus contributes to efficient use. With intelligent load control via the dry contact, the inverter is able to optimize the energy flow and ensure efficient operation of your solar system.
