BYD HVS/HVM Battery Control Unit + Base

The battery control unit and base from BYD provides protection, monitoring, and a secure stand for BYD Premium Storage battery boxes. This small set of two components can be used for both HVS and HVM battery boxes.

The new system generation

The new BYD generation is based on the proven storage systems and offers all the previous functions. The Battery Box Premium HVS and Battery Box Premium HVM each bring a battery module to the market that has a higher storage capacity than its predecessor. Thanks to advances in cell technology, the system weight has been reduced by almost 30% and the installation depth by 8 cm, which requires less space and results in a sleeker appearance. A highlight of the new storage units is their IP55 protection class, which allows them to be used outdoors. In addition, the new generation offers even greater flexibility and scalability. Up to three battery towers can now be connected to form a single system. BYD remains true to its line in terms of charging and discharging performance, as each battery can also deliver its rated capacity as power, i.e., 1C. This makes the new series ideal for on-grid, on-grid plus backup, and off-grid systems.

Modular battery system

The HVS Battery Box can be configured with 2 to 5 HVS battery modules arranged in series. This allows a capacity of 5.1 to 12.8kWh to be achieved. To achieve the maximum capacity of 38.4kWh, up to 3 identical HVS towers can be connected directly in parallel. It is also possible to expand the system later by adding additional HVS modules or parallel HVS towers.

The HVM Battery Box can be configured with 3 to 8 HVM battery modules arranged in series. This allows a capacity of 8.3 to 22.1kWh to be achieved. To achieve the maximum capacity of 66.2 kWh, up to 3 identical HVM towers can be connected directly in parallel. It is also possible to expand the system later by adding additional HVM modules or parallel HVM towers.

Powered at all times: BYD backup power and off-grid function

The HVS and HVM B-Boxes are extremely versatile and can be used in both on-grid and off-grid systems. Their integrated emergency power function is particularly practical and often in demand. This enables the B-Box to supply the entire household with power in the event of a power failure, either on one or three phases. The prerequisite for this is a compatible hybrid or storage inverter that supports both an emergency power and an off-grid function. Power and storage capacity: Scalability made easy

BYD attaches great importance to the scalability of its storage systems. The new B-Box HVS and HVM are easy to retrofit and allow for simple expansion. A simple plug connection eliminates cable clutter and unnecessary complexity in the product design. It is possible to add additional storage modules. In addition, by connecting up to three storage towers in parallel, a maximum storage capacity of 38.4 kWh can be achieved with the HVS and 66.2 kWh with the HVM. It is important to note that each storage tower must have the same number of modules.
